PRC to Receive DOE Small Business Award

Performance Results Corporation (PRC) will receive the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) “Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year Award” for 2008 at the Department’s 10th Annual Small Business Conference being held in Long Beach, CA, on August 11-14, 2009. PRC was nominated by the DOE Office of Nuclear Energy (NE) under both of the award’s criteria: (1) for providing “creative or unique solutions to DOE requirements” and (2) for “providing extraordinary customer service.” PRC was selected for this award over several other nominees. Only one award is presented by DOE for each major small business category.

PRC was cited in the nomination for its development and deployment of the Program Information Collection System (PICS), which communicates performance data received from internal and external accounting systems to the NE Federal Program and Project Managers. As cited in the nomination, “PICS is an innovative, extremely intuitive, and easy to use earned value management tool.  It permits various programs/projects and their participants to tailor their management and control approaches to meet the requirements of both R&D and capital asset projects.  Several programs/projects are currently utilizing the system for all monthly, quarterly, and annual program/project performance reporting, such as the status of performance measures and Level 2 milestones, deliverables, earned value, cost and schedule, Baseline Change Proposals (BCPs), and carryover projections.”

"PRC's Program Information Collection System (PICS) has proven to be a very innovative and effective system for supporting the DOE Office of Nuclear Energy's project management requirements since 2004,” says Lang Soo-Hoo, DOE-NE Contracting Officer’s Representative.  “The company has proven to be a responsive and ethical contractor with a focus on providing high quality, on-time deliverables.  Their can-do attitude combined with their desire to exceed expectations has earned them repeat business with NE."

Kathy Clinton, PRC’s Owner and President, is very pleased that the company was selected to receive this notable award from PRC’s primary customer, DOE. “My employees and I take great pride in being responsive to our clients by delivering high-quality products and services on time and within budget. We very much value and appreciate the unique recognition of being selected to receive DOE’s Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year Award for 2008. It is my goal to continue to earn our client’s confidence in PRC’s capability to consistently perform in an exceptional manner,” said Ms. Clinton.
