Community Outreach

PRC realizes that community involvement is vital, and we encourage our employees to be active in giving back. Here are some of the activities in which our employees are involved:

PRC - A Partner in Education - May 2008

PRC prides itself on staying involved and supporting the local community and its members.  Since 2001 PRC has participated in the Partnerships in Education program with the Monongalia County Middle School Alternative Learning Center.  The program recognized that schools are an integral part of every community and that education is a joint venture between schools and communities.  Mon Choice is an alternative education program where Monongalia public school students ranging in grades six to eight can be temporarily reassigned to a safe and orderly learning environment providing additional support and positive intervention.

On Friday, May 9th, 2008 PRC attended the Mon Choice annual end of the year picnic for 19 students and the staff.  The event kicked off at noon with PRC providing a buffet-style lunch from Kentucky Fried Chicken.  After lunch the students played games and the winners were awarded prizes that included ten dollar gift cards to Hollywood Theater.  At the end of the afternoon each student was presented with a gift bag that included candy, a packet of fun activities and pencil, a PRC t-shirt, and a gift card to Wal-Mart.  Overall it was a very enjoyable affair for the students and PRC looks forward to hosting other events in the future for Mon Choice.

A special thanks to PRC President/Owner, Kathy Clinton, JoAnn DiDomenico, and Mon Choice Teacher, Kamela Meikle for putting forth the effort to plan such a special day.

Salvation Army Angel Family Adoption - December 2006

PRC contributes to the Salvation Army Angel Family Adoption project annually. Once the Salvation Army provides our company with a family, employees contribute to help make the family's holiday brighter. Thanks to everyone who contributed to our Angel Family this year either monetarily or by donating items, time, or energy.

Once again, the endeavor was a huge success. We collected over $800 and used every penny to give the family clothing, food, toys, and household items. We couldn't have accomplished this without the help and donations of our caring employees.

Again, thank you for your participation and your thoughtfulness. It is greatly appreciated.

Fundraising Campaign - September 2006

The annual United Way Fundraising Campaign will soon be upon us. Corporate has announced its plans on the company intranet. Last year, United Way recognized PRC and its employees with three awards. First, for having more than 80% participation in the 2006 fund-raising campaign. Second, for increasing overall fund-raising contribution by more than $5,000. And third, for being one of only seven companies to do both. PRC invites all its employees to get involved this year and try to outdo ourselves!

2006 United Way Corporate Cup Challenge - June 2006

Congratulations to the 2006 PRC Corporate Cup team for being the overall champion in this year's Corporate Cup. PRC participates in the United Way Corporate Cup Challenge each year to help raise funds for the Monongalia County United Way. Area companies are encouraged to take part in various divisions based on the size of the company.

This year's competition began with our volleyball team taking first place in Division 1 (fewer than 100 employees) followed by the relay team taking home second place. Our horseshoe tournament team won their event. Unfortunately, our softball team didn't fair too well taking home the third place trophy, but that was OK. We had gained enough points to remain in the hunt. Team PRC took home third place in Table Tennis as well. Our bowling team finished second in the event and solidified our overall championship. Thanks to all the participants representing PRC in this worthy cause.
